How often each sharing option appears nationally. This is usually the decision that matters most day to day — more than the building, and more than the city.

Tell us your budget and move-in date. We come back with a shortlist, availability and the real monthly cost including deposit and meals.
Three things it is good for: finding which localities actually have supply before you start searching, filtering by who a property takes and whether it serves food, and knowing what facilities are standard in an area so you can tell what you would be paying extra for.
Two things it is not good for. It will not tell you the rent — see below for why. And it cannot replace the visit: advertised facilities tell you nothing about water pressure, how many people actually share your bathroom, or what the building sounds like at 10pm. This narrows the shortlist; your eyes decide.
12,791 paying guest and coliving properties across 13 cities and 1,538 localities, covering 336,089 beds. The largest coverage is in Delhi (3277), Mumbai (2660), Gurgaon (2206), Bangalore (1250), Kolkata (966).
Because the pricing in our source survey is several years old. A stale rent is worse than no rent: it anchors you to a figure no operator will honour today, and it makes the whole page look authoritative when on that one point it is not. We publish what has held up — who each property takes, meals, room types, facilities and house rules — and tell you to get the current rate from the property. When we have rent data we can stand behind, we will publish it and say where it came from.
Legally, very little — both are licence arrangements rather than tenancies in most cases. In practice coliving operators are branded, run multiple properties, standardise the room and bundle housekeeping and Wi-Fi into a single monthly figure. A traditional PG is usually a single owner-run building and more variable in quality.
Less than you may assume. Most PG arrangements are not registered rent agreements, so the protections that attach to a registered leave and licence agreement often do not apply. Your deposit, notice period and eviction terms rest on whatever document you signed. Insist on a written agreement, however short, and on receipts for every payment.
4,583 of the 12,791 properties we list are recorded as women-only. Every city and locality page shows the count, and the property tables mark who each one takes, so you can filter by locality before you start calling.
Property records come from field surveys and operator submissions, deduplicated by property. We publish the property count behind every figure so you can judge how much weight it carries, and we do not publish a locality page where we hold fewer than eight properties. Availability and house rules change between survey and your visit, so confirm before you travel.
Why there are no rents on these pages. The pricing in our source survey is several years old. Publishing it would give you a number to anchor on that no operator would honour today, which is worse than publishing nothing, so we have left it out entirely rather than dress up stale figures as current. What is here — who each property takes, meals, room types, facilities and house rules — changes far more slowly and is still worth having. For current rates, ask the property or send us the shortlist request above.
